U.S. Army First Aid Packet for use during World War I. Brown olive drab painted metal case with the text stamped onto the front "FIRST AID PACKET - U.S. ARMY / CONTRACT MAY 1918 / BAUER & BLACK / CHICAGO, U.S.A. / TO OPEN-PULL RING / PATENT APPLIED FOR". These packages have also seen use in WW II. This example is in great shape with most of the paint still remaining. Completely sealed with minor damage on the outside. The pull ring is still attached to the packet. To my knowledge there are 2 safety pins, 2 field dressing bandages and an instruction note inside this packet. This example has a manufacturing date that is rarely seen, and within wartime. A great piece with lots of character too it. A must have for a WW I display.
